Robert Stickgold, Ph.D.

Robert Stickgold serves as Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School; as Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center; and as Director for the Center for Sleep and Cognition

Dr. Stickgold has published more than 100 scientific publications, including papers in Science, Nature, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and Nature Neuroscience. His current work looks at the nature and function of sleep and dreams from a cognitive neuroscience perspective, with an emphasis on the role of sleep and dreams in memory consolidation and integration. His work is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health.

He is a member of the Sleep Research Society, the Society for Neuroscience, the Cognitive Neuroscience Society and the American Psychological Association. Dr. Stickgold received his B.A. from Harvard University and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, both in biochemistry.
